Whoopi Goldberg boldly called out a disruptor on today’s episode of The View, yelling at an unseen figure backstage who was making enough noise that she could hear them from the Hot Topics table.

The moment happened as Alyssa Farah Griffin was talking about a podcast she recently hosted with Kara Swisher. While the conservative co-host promoted the Pivot episode, which premieres tomorrow, Goldberg halted the show to call out the backstage nuisance.

“Hold on a second, y’all,” Goldberg told the audience and the View panel, before standing up from her seat and turning behind her. Sara Haines, who was seated beside Goldberg, looked on in confusion.

Goldberg then shouted, “Hey, whoever’s back there, we can hear you!” as her co-hosts chuckled around the Hot Topics table.

Griffin joked, “It’s Taraji taking selfies,” referring to Taraji P. Henson, that day’s View guest who had been seated at the table during the previous segment.

Whoever was backstage must have heard the message loud and clear, because Goldberg moved on with her segment and didn’t have to give a second warning to the faceless bother.

Goldberg is a live TV pro after decades of performing and years spent co-hosting The View, but she’s not afraid to get a little bold on air, as we saw today. And just a few months ago, she pulled off a similar shocking moment when she paused during an episode to interact with an audience member who called her an “old broad.”

“Did you just call me an old broad?” Goldberg asked in the middle of a January episode. While she was caught off guard, she embraced the unexpected remark, replying, “I am an old broad and happy about it.”

Never change, Whoopi.

The View airs weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
