People are losing their minds after Ben Affleck gave an interview in fluent Spanish while promoting his new movie Air, which follows the partnership between Nike and NBA legend Michael Jordan.

The nearly two-minute-long clip from his sit-down with the Spain-based radio station Cadena SER went viral on social media, leaving many shocked at how well the actor can speak the language.

“The important thing to understand is that this is not Michael Jordan’s story, and Michael Jordan also does not appear in the movie,” he said in seemingly perfect Spanish, per Today. “He’s so big, so important, so magnificent — there’s not an actor in the world who could lead the audience to believe, ‘Look, it’s Michael Jordan.’”

He continued, “Immediately, they are going to think, ‘All of this is shit. It’s a shit movie. I don’t believe it.’ And it destroys [the movie] entirely.”

Meanwhile, social media users took to Twitter to express their disbelief over Affleck’s Spanish-speaking abilities. One wrote, “I don’t speak Spanish but he sounds like a native speaker.”

Another added, “Anyone else mind blown at Ben Affleck speaking fluent Spanish during an interview with La Cadena SER, a radio network in Spain?!”

“I had no idea Ben Affleck was *this* fluent in Spanish ???” a third person said, while someone else asked, “Is this AI?”

Another wrote, “My mind cannot retain the info that Ben Affleck speaks amazing Spanish. I’m surprised every time,” before someone else said, “Tell me why ben affleck speaks better spanish than jlo.”

“Ben Affleck speaking Spanish is absolutely terrifying,” another fan chimed in. “Goodnight!”

Back in a March 2020 interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Affleck — who said he speaks Spanish “passively” —  explained how he learned the language.

“I did this little kids TV series when I was young and when I was 13,” he began. “The season that year was [shot] in Mexico, so I was in Mexico for a year and that’s how I picked it up.”
