Kelly Clarkson enlisted the help of Outer Banks star Charles Esten to duet Bruce Springsteen’s “Glory Days” on The Kelly Clarkson Show

During today’s “Kellyoke” segment, the two threw it back to the ‘80s with the classic rock tune.

“Glory Days” is a single from Springsteen’s popular “Born in the U.S.A.” album, which also includes the titular track, “Working on the Highway” and “I’m on Fire.” The song peaked at number five on Billboard’s Top 100 chart in 1985.

During their performance, Esten joined the American Idol champ on guitar and vocals. Fans were immediately impressed and took to social media to complement the two.

One fan wrote on Twitter, “That girl can sing anything!” Another echoed, “We need a full length duet! Your voices are beautiful together!”

A third commented on YouTube, “Queen Kelly sang this like a boss and she is amazing and great duet with Charles Esten and it was awesome!”

Another fan commented on Esten’s past role in the musical drama Nashville, where he showed off his vocal chops opposite Hayden Panettiere. “I had worked on Nashville as a background actor (extra) for a couple of seasons and I can totally say Charles/Chip is the real deal!! Super nice, and active in the community as well! Glad y’all had him on!! Looking forward to seeing this episode,” they wrote.

Even Esten himself took to Twitter to express his excitement over the performance. The Outer Banks actor gushed, “Singing with @kellyclarkson? This IS a Glory Day!”

Esten also performed his new original song “One Good Move” during his talk show appearance. He explained to Clarkson that the song is about his wife, whom he refers to as his “one good move” in his track record of bad decision making.

The Kelly Clarkson Show airs on weekdays at 3 p.m. ET on NBC. Watch Kelly Clarkson and Charles Esten’s full performance of “Glory Days” in the video above.
