Kim Kardashian losing $75,000 earrings in the ocean may be one of the scariest things we’ve seen on Keeping Up With The Kardashians, but now the reality star is stepping into new levels of terror with her upcoming gig on American Horror Story Season 12.
The announcement was made on Kardashian’s social media accounts earlier today. In the 40-second clip, an eerie version of “Rock-a-Bye Baby” plays as both the SKIMS founder and AHS veteran Emma Roberts are teased for the upcoming season, which is dubbed Delicate.
“Kim is among the biggest and brightest television stars in the world and we are thrilled to welcome her to the AHS family,” Ryan Murphy, co-creator of AHS, said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “Emma and I are excited about collaborating with this true force in the culture.”
He continued, “Halley Feiffer has written a fun, stylish and ultimately terrifying role especially for Kim, and this season is ambitious and unlike anything we have ever done.”
While specifics about Kardashian and Roberts’ respective roles in the hit show’s twelfth season are being kept under wraps, the outlet reported that the storyline will be based in part on Danielle Valentine’s upcoming novel Delicate Condition. The book is described as a “gripping thriller that follows a woman convinced a sinister figure is going to great lengths to make sure her pregnancy never happens―while the men in her life refuse to believe a word she says.”
Kardashian is no stranger to the small screen. Aside from helming her own reality shows as far back as 2007, she has also made guest appearances in dramas like CSI: NY and Drop Dead Diva. However, her highly anticipated role on AHS marks her first major acting gig.
Roberts first joined the horror series in its third season in 2013, before going on to star in subsequent seasons Freak Show, Cult, Apocalypse and 1984. The last time she was on the show was four years ago.
American Horror Story Season 12 is coming to FX this summer. An official date has not yet been announced.
