Laura-Leigh Mosler — the Vanderpump Rules alum whom Jax Taylor infamously dumped outside of her AA meeting back in Season 1 of the show — can’t seem to escape her reality TV past. During Wednesday night’s (April 12) Watch What Happens Live, actress and Bravo superfan Gillian Jacobs revealed the surprising connection she has with the former Sur waitress.
Gillian told Andy Cohen and Lala Kent that she first met Laura-Leigh years before she nabbed a gig working for Lisa Vanderpump’s West Hollywood restaurant.
“I went to Juilliard, Laura-Leigh went to Juilliard. I was about two years out of college and one of the teachers called me and said, ‘We have this student who really wants to do indie films. Will you talk to her?’ because I was primarily doing very low-budget indie films,” she explained. “So I had a coffee with Laura-Leigh years before Vanderpump [Rules].”
Gillian added, “That’s actually why I started watching the show. My boyfriend had Bravo on, I walked past him and I was like, ‘What is Laura-Leigh doing on?’ So I’m a day one.”
Laura-Leigh was an aspiring actress when she was working at the restaurant back in the show’s first season. She made a splash after becoming Jax’s rebound girlfriend following his breakup with Stassi Schroeder and ultimately finding herself in trouble after she and the notorious womanizer hooked up in the Sur bathroom.
The duo eventually called it quits after Laura-Leigh — who opened up about her struggles with drugs and alcohol — invited Jax to an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting. Despite attending the meeting, he promptly broke it off on their way out.
However, Laura-Leigh eventually left the show on her own accord before the end of the first season after she scored a role in what she described as a “huge movie with Jennifer Aniston,” which ended up being the 2013 comedy We’re the Millers. The actress also went on to star in Under the Silver Lake opposite Andrew Garfield and Riley Keough, as well as Blue Bloods.
Vanderpump Rules airs on Wednesday nights at 9/8c on Bravo.
