Love Is Blind fans were left fuming last night when Netflix failed to air the show’s first live reunion special as advertised. The special was set to stream on the platform at 8 PM ET on Sunday (April 16), but unfortunately was halted for “technical issues.”

For many, the website and app crashed entirely, whereas others were treated to elevator music and an error message that read, “We’re having trouble playing this title right now.” The show would’ve Netflix’s second live event in history, following Chris Rock’s comedy special in March.

Per Deadline, it has been alleged that tensions at Netflix were high prior to the premiere and there was overlap between the people who planned Rock’s broadcast and the reality show reunion.

The source added that “there was some internal finger-pointing over the team’s level of technical experience and whether the special truly took advantage of all the former broadcast TV execs at Netflix who are schooled in the art of live TV.”

Another insider countered that point, saying, “plenty of people with strong linear backgrounds were involved in the special and that it wasn’t fair to point blame.”

Nearly an hour and 30 minutes into the special’s delay, Netflix tweeted, “To everyone who stayed up late, woke up early, gave up their Sunday afternoon… we are incredibly sorry that the Love is Blind Live Reunion did not turn out as we had planned. We’re filming it now and we’ll have it on Netflix as soon as humanly possible. Again, thank you and sorry.”

Eventually, the reunion kicked off for the live audience, plus a select few on the streamer; but, several viewers were still left unable to watch the event. The reunion special was finally made available to stream on Monday (April 17) at 3PM ET.

The Love Is Blind reunion special is currently streaming on Netflix.
