Pat Sajak came to the rescue after one Wheel of Fortune competitor shaded another contestant during Friday night’s (April 14) episode of the long-running game show.

Alex, who revealed that her mom was once “disqualified” from a game show she appeared on while she was pregnant with her, went up against Matthew, a forensic psychologist, and Mary Jane, a retired teacher. When she incorrectly answered a puzzle in the “Fun and Games” category, Matthew was quick to hit back with a snarky comment.

The clue read, “MIN_ _ _ _ RE G _ _ _,” to which Alex guessed, “Miniature goat?”

After Sajak deemed the answer wrong, Matthew, who correctly guessed “miniature golf,” told his contestant, “Goats are small!”

Alex was a good sport as she immediately began laughing and responded, “It’s like, fun and games, right!?” before Sajak chimed in, “What’s more fun than a little tiny goat?”

Matthew added, “A blast,” as Sajak turned to the contestant and told her, “At least you can laugh at yourself.”

Meanwhile, fans took to Twitter to support the Santa Monica native after her funny botch.

“Alex talked about her mom botching her time on a game show… 🥴 then… #WheelOfFortune,” one wrote.

Another added, “Miniature goat LOL 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂,” while a third person joked, “I can’t wait to ride a miniature goat while eating steamed pasta shells.”

“Alex on #WheelOfFortune is a badass,” someone else pointed out. “I feel like she should win.”

Unfortunately, Alex didn’t walk away with the win. Instead, Matthew went on to the bonus round with $25,900 and a trip to Costa Rica. However, he missed out on a brand new Ford after he couldn’t correctly guess “Finishing my workout.”
