Will There Be a Season 2 of ‘Florida Man’ on Netflix?

Netflix’s new meme-inspired crime drama Florida Man may be getting mixed reviews (at best) from the critics, but that doesn’t mean the audience doesn’t love it. Less than a week after its April 13 release, the series is already dominating the platform’s most-watched TV show list. Currently, it stands at number two just behind A24’s Beef.

If you haven’t watched Florida Man yet, the Jason Bateman-produced miniseries follows a dishonored ex-cop who’s forced to return to his home state of Florida to crack a shady case. That quick mission becomes lengthy, however, when he is accidentally swept into a deadly treasure hunt. Chaotic as the show may be, the plot is generally pretty fun.

Now, given the popularity of Florida Man Season 1, we know those of you that have already seen the show are probably wondering two things: Was the show actually filmed in Florida? And will there be a Season 2?

Will There Be A Florida Man Season 2 on Netflix?

It is unlikely that there will be a Florida Man Season 2 on Netflix. The show was produced as a limited miniseries, meaning that the full story arc was meant to be played out over its seven episodes. Though we won’t tell you how the series ends, we can assure you that the plot reaches a logical and satisfactory conclusion.

Given the unexpectedly high popularity and positive audience feedback the show’s been receiving, however, we don’t doubt the possibility that Netflix may look into ways to continue the series. There are plenty of loose ends, supporting characters, and side plots from Season 1 that the writers could dive into should they decide to keep the Florida Man universe alive. As of now, though, no official plans to produce a second season exist.

So, if you’re a fan of Florida Man fan, we recommend taking to social media and letting Bateman and his friends know you’re hungry for more. With enough buzz around the subject, Season 2 just might get the green light.
