Courtney B. Vance will be playing former CIA agent-turned-social worker Cobra Bubbles in the upcoming Lilo & Stitch live action movie.

The Emmy Award-winning actor will be joining the remake’s slowly growing cast of stars. Industry newcomer Maia Kealoha will be playing Lilo, while her sister Nani will be played by Sydney Elizebeth Agudong. Nani’s love interest, David Kawena, will be played by Kahiau Machado.

Zach Galifianakis also joined the cast in February, though details of his role are still unknown.

The Lilo & Stitch live action remake will be an adaptation of the original 2002 Disney film. The movie follows a lonely Hawaiian girl who befriends Stitch, an alien on the run who was created to destroy.

It is still unclear how the Lilo & Stitch live action remake will compare to the original 2002 film. But the adaptation was written by Chris Kekaniokalani, Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois.

Sanders and DeBlois co-wrote and co-directed the original film. Sanders also voiced Stitch in the original movie and is currently credited on IMDB as the mutant’s voice actor for the remake, as well.

The remake will be directed by Marcel the Shell With Shoes On director Dean Fleischer-Camp.

Cobra Bubbles was originally voiced by Ving Rhames in the film.

Lilo And Stitch, the 2002 original, became a cult success upon its release and soon lead to a hit Disney series.

It also earned an Academy Award nomination for best animated feature.
