Jamie Foxx Reportedly “Doing Better” After Being Hospitalized For Undisclosed Health Scare, Martin Lawrence Says

Martin Lawrence just shared a hopeful update about Jamie Foxx‘s recovery process after the actor was hospitalized earlier this month.

Foxx experienced a “medical complication” April 11 on the set of his new Netflix film, but Lawrence says the star is thankfully improving.

“I hear he’s doing better… My prayers go out for him every night and just wishing the best for him, one of the best that we got in Hollywood,” Lawrence told Extra at his recent Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony.

He added, “Not only one of the best entertainers but a good person.”

Foxx’s daughter Corinne Foxx first shared that her father had been hospitalized after his undisclosed emergency. Though her statement didn’t provide many details, she did share that he received “quick action and great care.”

“We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers,” her statement read. “The family asks for privacy during this time.”

According to ET, a source claims Foxx is now “healing [and] feels the love from everyone.”

Tracy Morgan and Steve Harvey, who also attended Lawrence’s Walk of Fame ceremony, had their own thoughts to share on his medical scare.

“I’ve been there. I was on the other side in a coma for 10 days, so I know about [being hospitalized],” Morgan said, referring to his 2014 car accident that left him with life-threatening injuries. “I just want Jamie to please get strong.”

Harvey shared that he was “stunned” when he learned about the news. “This dude, he don’t do nothing, man. This dude is fit, so I was really concerned, man,” he said. “So I hope everything works out. I’m pretty sure it will.”

Since news of his hospitalization broke, celebrities have been voicing their support for the multi-hyphenate star.

Kerry Washington wished him well in an Instagram post, remembering their time working together on Ray, for which Foxx earned his first Academy Award for portraying the jazz legend Ray Charles. “A @iamjamiefoxx appreciation post,” she wrote. “Sending you all the love and prayers my movie huzbin.”

At the time of his hospitalization, Foxx had been filming a Netflix comedy with Cameron Diaz in Atlanta that has been mired with problems.

From elaborate cash scams to discovering a World War II bomb on set, production did not seem to be going smoothly for the star.

Filming has since resumed and they appear to be using a stand-in for Foxx for the time being.
