Here’s an unexpected jump scare for you: The Scream 6 Paramount+ and digital release date is tomorrow, which is great news for those of us who like scary movies.

Starting on Tuesday, April 25, Paramount+ subscribers will be able to stream Scream 6 on the platform for free. And if you don’t have a Paramount+ subscription, you’ll be able to buy or rent Scream 6 on digital platforms like Amazon Prime, Vudu, Google Play, Apple TV, and more. The price may vary depending on which platform you use to purchase the film, but right now Scream 6 costs $19.99 to pre-order on Amazon. Scream 6 will also release on DVD and Blu-Ray on July 11.

The sixth movie in the horror franchise after 45 days in theaters, which has more or less become the new standard theatrical window after the COVID-19 pandemic. Scream 6 was a box office success, with a worldwide box office of over $167 million, far outperforming 2022’s Scream, which took home about $138.8 million. Scream VI was also the first Scream movie not to feature star Neve Campbell, after the actor was unable to negotiate her desired salary for the movie.

The newest Scream movie—which was directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett and written by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick—continues the story of Scream 5, following a new cast of characters led by stars Jenna Ortega and Melissa Barrera, who play sisters Tara and Sam. Tara is attempting to live a normal life as a college student in New York City, but that’s hard to do with her big sister Sam watching her every move. But can you blame Sam? If Sidney Prescott has taught us anything, it’s that once you’re marked by Ghostface, you’re cursed for life. Or, at least, your cursed for as long as the franchise keeps making money. Also starring Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, and Josh Segarra, and featuring the return of Courteney Cox and Hayden Panettiere, Scream 6 offers yet another bloody, meta, murder mystery.

If you didn’t get a chance to catch the film in theaters, you won’t have to wait much longer to find out who’s under the Ghostface mask this time around. You can also watch the first five movies on Paramount+ right now if you need a refresher before tomorrow. Happy streaming!
