Don’t celebrate too fast! Nick Lachey and Vanessa Lachey are reportedly safe at Love Is Blind despite recent rumors and backlash against the couple.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Netflix has made zero moves to oust the current hosts of the hit reality series. The Lacheys are said to be keeping their jobs on the series.

Earlier this week, it was reported that Season 1 alums Lauren Speed and Cameron Hamilton were in the running to replace the couple as hosts after the recent live reunion fail, which was caused by technical issues and Vanessa Lachey’s invasive line of questioning.

The source told The Daily Mail, “People want to relate to the hosts, and at this point they can’t relate to Vanessa or Nick.”

They also stated that the Lacheys are “fabulous when it comes to interacting with the studio higher-ups and Netflix executives,” but aren’t quick to think on their feet.

“There’s another side to them which everyone finally got to see because the reunion special wasn’t scripted,” the source said.

As of now, Netflix has not issued a comment on Nick and Vanessa Lachey’s standing with the series. Decider reached out to Netflix for comment.

The audience reception has sparked a petition on Change.org that has over 40,000 signatures, calling for Netflix to remove the Lacheys as hosts.

The most recent reunion special was the streamer’s second-ever live event, following the success of Chris Rock’s 2023 comedy special. During a Q1 interview, Netflix CEOs Ted Sarandos and Greg Peters opened up about the technical issue that occurred during the reunion’s premiere, which left viewers waiting for roughly 90 minutes.

The reunion ended up airing the next day on the streamer.

“We’re really sorry to disappoint so many people. We didn’t meet the standard that we expect ourselves to serve our members and just be clear from a technical perspective, we’ve got the infrastructure,” Peters said at the time.

Sarandos said the reunion still brought it “ultimately 6.5 million viewers” despite the technical bumps.

After the reunion, Business Insider detailed several accounts of former contestants who have come forward with allegations of “emotional warfare” and poor living conditions on the show.

Amber Pike and Matt Barnett from the first season of the series recently revealed that they have not seen future seasons of the series and told Netflix to “stay away” from them after filming, which is why they did not appear during their reunion episode.

Love Is Blind is currently streaming on Netflix.
