Directioners, rejoice.

Harry Styles finally answered the question at the top of everyone’s minds when he joined James Corden and Will Ferrell on Thursday’s (April 27) episode of The Late Late Show.

While playing a round of Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts, Styles addressed the gossip regarding a possible One Direction reunion once and for all. His first question of the game got straight to the point: “Yes or no, will there be a One Direction reunion? Will it ever happen?”

“I fear that it’s not a yes or no question. I think I would never say never to that,” he answered. “If there was a time when we wanted to do it, I don’t see why we wouldn’t.”

Rumors swirled ahead of the Late Late Show finale that the internationally popular boy band would be reuniting to celebrate Corden’s final hurrah on the talk show. As it began to pick up momentum across the internet, the Late Late Show‘s official Twitter account quickly squashed those rumors.

“Nobody loves the boys more than us … but this story just isn’t true,” they tweeted. “What is true is we’ve got an absolutely brilliant 2 hour finale planned to celebrate 8 years of #LateLateShow at 10pm on April 27th.”

Late Late Show co-executive producer Ben Winston, who previously worked closely with the boy band when they were together, also shot the rumors down, tweeting, “I wish! Sadly not going to happen!”

One Direction made their first public appearance together on the talk show in 2014 after member Zayn Malik left the band. The remaining four members continued working together until November 2015, putting out their fifth and final studio album Made in the A.M. before they officially disbanded.

Corden has long been a vocal fan and friend of the band. Since the breakup, Corden has welcomed almost all of the members — except for the notoriously elusive Malik — onto his show individually as they’ve gone on to pursue solo musical careers.

The April 27 broadcast marked the Late Late Show‘s series finale after seven years on the air.
