After comedian Roy Wood Jr. hosted the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner last weekend, he stopped by The View to reflect on his experience — and open up about the jokes he was most nervous about making.

No one was safe during Wood’s gig, as he was sure to poke fun at everyone from Republicans to Democrats to the media (and even Scandoval!). However, he revealed that he was most nervous about the jokes he had written about Vice President Kamala Harris.

During the dinner, Wood told the audience, “The most insulting scandal to fall to the feet of the Biden Administration is placed at the feet of our Madam Vice President. The scandal of, ‘What Does Kamala Do?'”

While Alyssa Farah Griffin noted that it “landed so well,” Wood fired back, “We can say that now! The joke literally starts with, ‘What does Kamala do?’ That was the first sentence of the joke. And I’m like, ‘Oh, Jesus. Please.’”

He continued, “It’s a joke about how that question, in my opinion, is an insult because we didn’t really ask it of Mike Pence when he was running and hiding around the White House. And I think it was fair to at least point out some of the stuff that she’s done from a policy standpoint.”

Despite turning the joke around in Harris’ favor, The Daily Show personality revealed he was still nervous about getting through that first line “because if she doesn’t smile at that, then the next two minutes I’m done.”

Meanwhile, Ana Navarro assured him that the VP has a good sense of humor and that she “laughs very easily, which is one of the things they criticize about her,” to which he quipped, “Well, the media needs to report on her sense of humor, too! Because I didn’t know about that!”
