You oughta know that Alanis Morissette and Ed Sheeran are filling in as judges for Katy Perry and Lionel Richie on American Idol while they’re busy performing at King Charles III‘s coronation this upcoming weekend. A perfect team, wouldn’t you say?

The “big-time” musicians, as remaining judge Luke Bryan previously teased, will step in for the duo on Sunday night’s (May 7) episode of the hit singing competition show, where they will also be performing, per Entertainment Weekly.

Moreover, Morissette will act as a mentor to the remaining finalists in the Top 10 — who will perform her songs during the upcoming competition as they vie for a spot in the final five.

Sheeran’s work will also get some recognition as the remaining competitors will team up to sing duets of his songs.

This is one of many twists and turns that have come up on this season of Idol, including unexpected dropouts and never-ending backlash for Perry, who has been accused of “mom-shaming” and was even booed by the audience after suggesting that one contestant lay off the glitter.

Despite the fan hate, Perry is looking forward to her opportunity to attend the coronation, which comes months after Queen Elizabeth II‘s death.

“I’m grateful I get to go,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “I met His Majesty to be a few years ago and he named me as one of the ambassadors to his organization, The British Asian Trust, which is an organization that helps fight to end child trafficking.”

Perry continued, “So I’m also an ambassador for UNICEF, and it really aligned with my values. That’s mostly why I’m going, to be an ambassador and to say, ‘Hey, this is me from the USA.’ No, but it’s so cool.”

American Idol airs on Sunday nights at 8/7c on ABC.
