In the new Paramount+ series Rabbit Hole, Kiefer Sutherland returns to his political thriller roots as John Weir, the head of a corporate espionage company. Weir’s life gets turned upside down when he’s framed for committing multiple murders. Now, he’s tasked with fighting to maintain democracy in a world controlled by larger forces.

“When [John Weir] starts to lose his control, when he has to start to rely on other people and he has to start trusting people, he actually inherently becomes a much better person,” Sutherland told TV Insider after the Season 1 finale. “I think that’s one of the reasons that I was so interested in playing him, was that he really evolved during the course of even one season.”

Starring Charles Dance (who you may remember from Game of Thrones), Meta Golding and Rob Yang, Rabbit Hole may feel reminiscent of Sutherland’s previous action thrillers, such as 24 and Designated Survivor, but with a completely new approach.

Now that Rabbit Hole season 1 has come to an end, will there be a Season 2? Here’s what we know.

Will there be a Rabbit Hole Season 2?

Paramount+ has not yet announced whether there will be a second season of Rabbit Hole.

The show was well received by critics and audiences alike, boasting a 75 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes and succeeding The Last Of Us in rankings, but only time will tell if Paramount will renew the spy thriller for another season. Decider has reached out to reps for the show about a potential Season 2, but did not hear back by time of publication.

Upon the show’s March debut, Sutherland spoke about how much he enjoyed making the series. “So glad to finally have Rabbit Hole out in the world,” he wrote in an Instagram post. “Thank you so much for your support and I hope you enjoy it as much as we did making it.”

Rabbit Hole Season 1 officially finished airing new episodes as of this weekend. You can check out all eight episodes streaming now.
