Soundbars are essential to any home theater setup, but if you’ve been holding out this long, we have good news for you.

Earlier this year, we put together an expert recommended guide to the best soundbars on the market right now, in terms of features and value, and right now, a Samsung soundbar one step up from one of our favorites is 45% off on Amazon, which takes it to over a $400 discount.

“Why do I need a soundbar,” you ask? Per the SVP of Entertainment at Dolby, John Couling, soundbars take the responsibility of creating sound away from the actual television, which are being created thinner and thinner lately, leading to sacrificed sound quality. A soundbar’s entire job is to create sound, and you can make more additions to make to your setup beyond a soundbar to enhance the surround sound even further.

Sound like something you’d be into? Read on for all the details about the soundbar on sale.

When you see 5.1.2ch, it refers to the number of channels, rear speakers, and subwoofers, respectively, required to create true surround sound with this particular soundbar. There are five sound channels in the soundbar itself, and you have the option to add two rear channel speakers to your setup (they should be placed across the room from the soundbar, which ideally is placed below the TV). The soundbar itself comes with a wireless subwoofer, which is necessary for delivering lower-frequency sounds.

This specific model is equipped with wireless Dolby Atmos, which contributes to the surround sound without the need for extra HDMI cables, and Spacefit Sound, which uses AI to analyze the space and calibrate the sound for it.

It’s also compatible with Apple AirPlay 2, Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and built-in Chromecast.
