Looks like we may finally have some closure on the GMA3-T.J. Holmes-Amy Robach situation over at ABC. Today, ABC News president Kim Godwin announced that the new permanent anchors of GMA3: What You Need To Know will be DeMarco Morgan and Eva Pilgrim, per Deadline.

The duo will likely bring some stability to the program that was shaken up by the romantic scandal that rocked the show last year.

Holmes and Robach were fired from their roles on the news show back in January when news of their extramarital affair was made public. Their departure was messy, with ABC staffers reportedly told to go “zero contact” with the anchors, and reports that the whole atmosphere of the GMA set was overtly sexual and unprofessional.

In the time since Holmes and Robach were removed from their posts, a slew of guest hosts have taken over their roles on the show, including Morgan, plus Gio Benitez, Rhiannon Ally, Stephanie Ramos and Janai Normal.

Pilgrim, who has been with ABC News since 2015 as a New York-based correspondent, has co-anchored Good Morning America on Saturdays and Sundays since 2018, and it appears that Benitez will take her spot as a weekend anchor, where he will join Normal and Whit Johnson.

Morgan joined ABC News in 2022. Prior to that, he was an anchor at KCBS in Los Angeles. The pair have appeared numerous times together as guest hosts on GMA3 over the last few months, and it seems like their formula was just right for ABC. During their times together on the show, the chemistry between the new anchors has been scandalously professional and full of hot, steamy respect for one another, so we’re going to have to see how this plays out.

ABC News chief health and medical correspondent Dr. Jennifer Ashton will also join Morgan and Pilgrim on the show — maybe she’ll be able to keep the palpably platonic tension between the two under control.
