In The Crowded Room, Tom Holland takes on a dramatic role unlike anything we’ve seen before from the Spider-Man actor.

In this limited series coming soon to Apple TV+, Holland plays Danny Sullivan, a young man who finds himself at the center of a crime in New York City in 1979. Investigator Rya Goodwin (Amanda Seyfried) is tasked with solving the mystery before the true criminal strikes again, leading her to learn more about Goodwin’s troubled past.

According to the show’s description, “Danny’s life story unfolds, revealing elements of the mysterious past that shaped him, and the twists and turns that will lead him to a life-altering revelation.”

Emmy Rossum, Thomas Sadoski, and Will Chase also star in this crime thriller that is based on a true story.

In a recent interview, Holland expressed that The Crowded Room was the exact type of project he had been wanting to work on. So much so, he signed on to star and serve as executive producer without seeing any of the finished scripts.

Holland said he hoped viewers would come away from the series with “more respect and more sympathy for people who are going through mental health issues.”

“I hope that people will feel educated about the powers of mental health, the struggles, [and] our incredible abilities to survive,” he said.
