Real Housewives of New York City alum Jill Zarin opened up about the collapse of Bravo’s Legacy series, in which she was reportedly in talks to join alongside other “original” RHONY cast members.

Legacy didn’t happen because it just wasn’t meant to happen, that’s the truth,” she told Page Six. “It has nothing to do with me. It has to do with the producers and what they decided to do. I don’t really know.”

However, Zarin — who appeared in Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip Season 2 — is perfectly fine with remaining off-camera, despite commenting “@bravoandy 📞,” on Bravo’s announcement for the reboot back in March 2022.

“I don’t miss it,” she said. “I’m a big fan. I love watching it but that was a chapter of my life that’s closed and I’ve opened up a few new ones.”

Earlier this year, Page Six reported that Bravo had rescinded its offers to the cast — which was set to include Zarin, Luann de Lesseps, Sonja Morgan, Ramona Singer, Kelly Bensimon and Dorinda Medley — and put the kibosh on plans to air the spinoff series altogether.

According to sources, the talent felt as though the network was “lowballing” them, with one even claiming that the ladies thought “they should make what the cast of Friends made in their heyday” — which was about $1 million per episode during the show’s final two seasons.

Following the report, a source told E! News that the series was simply put “on pause,” while Bravo boss Andy Cohen tweeted, “Don’t believe everything you read #RHONYLegacy.”

With low ratings and a canceled Season 13 reunion, the network decided to completely replace the RHONY cast with a much more diverse group of women, including Ubah Hassan, Sai De Silva and fashion designer Jenna Lyons — and create a rebranded Legacy series featuring OG cast members after a two-year-long hiatus.

Plus, a Simple Life-style spinoff featuring de Lesseps and Morgan is set to premiere sometime in 2023. As it was announced at last year’s BravoCon, Luann and Sonja: Welcome to Crappie Lake will follow the two pals as they travel to the Midwest to help rejuvenate the small town of Benton, Illinois.

The Real Housewives of New York City is currently streaming on Peacock.
