Margaret Josephs may have taken the heat for supposedly having an “arsenal” of information on The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast, but it looks like the true culprit may very well have been Teresa Giudice‘s husband Luis Ruelas.

During tonight’s season finale, Ruelas admits to talking to famous private investigator Bo Dietl to dig up dirt on everyone in the friend group following a blowout argument about Melissa Gorga‘s alleged backseat makeout session with a man who wasn’t her husband.

Earlier in the season, Jennifer Aydin repeated the rumor — which she heard from Josephs’s ex-bestie, the mysterious Laura — to Danielle Cabral, who decides that Dolores Catania‘s Irish party would be a good time to bring it up to Melissa.

When she does, Melissa is not nearly as shocked as we thought she would be. Why? Because Teresa and Luis secretly brought it up to Joe Gorga six months earlier. What flusters her, however, is that it came back up, prompting her to go after Teresa for allegedly sending Cabral to do her dirty work.

As the fight dies down, a red-faced Luis clearly isn’t ready to let it go as he continuously reminds Melissa that he was the one who called Joe over for the secret meeting, not Teresa.

“I called him,” he smugly says to the Envy boutique owner. “Bo Dietl knows shit about everyone in this room.”

For those who have no idea why Luis is mentioning Dietl, who retired from his detective gig in 1985 and has since appeared in movies like Goodfellas and The Wolf of Wall Street, he explains just what he meant by that comment in the final few minutes of the episode.

Speaking of his decision to inform Joe of Melissa’s alleged infidelity, Luis tells Teresa, Jennifer and Dolores, “Bo Dietl, who’s one of the most famous private investigators in the country — one of my best friends — brought me information on each person in this group. There’s so much more.”

He continues, “I didn’t get to where I got to by accident but I surround myself with really successful people. And he brought that over. So let’s just stop it acting like this whole thing is like, ‘Just some cheating rumor.’”

In her confessional, Teresa — who reveals that the PI would be attending their upcoming wedding, unlike her brother and sister-in-law — is asked by a producer about what other information she knows.

“I don’t know anything,” she insists.

Similarly, Dolores can’t come up with what kind of tea Dietl could have on the friend group. She tells cameras, “I don’t know. But I don’t understand why he’s talking with a private investigator. I don’t understand.”

It sounds like something we’ll learn more about at the reunion!
