Joy Behar is asking the real questions. The View co-host revealed on today’s show that she once had a candid chat with Sports Illustrated‘s latest Swimsuit Issue cover star, Martha Stewart, about all things undergarments.

Behar — who just last week dished on her interesting underwear habits — got right into it with Stewart.

Admiring Stewart’s impressive photoshoot for the issue, which debuts May 18, Behar said, “She has good genes, obviously, and she worked hard,” before adding, “She’s been doing pilates and she’s been avoiding pasta and bread for now.”

Behar continued, “It’s only temporary, until she looks good on the magazine. One time I met her and I said to her, ‘Martha, what do you wear as a brassiere?’ Because my generation says ‘brassiere,’ by the way. Without missing a beat, she said, ‘I wear a bathing suit under my clothing.’ It’s like one piece.”

This being Behar, she wasn’t satisfied with Stewart’s answer and needed more details, of course.

“I said, ‘Well, how do you pee? She said, ‘There’s no snaps on a bathing suit,” Behar told her co-hosts.

Whoopi Goldberg then chimed in, adding,”I have snaps on my bathing suit. You don’t have snaps on your bathing suit?”

Behar said Stewart doesn’t need those, actually.

“She said she pulls it to the side. She’s innovative!” she replied.

At 81, Stewart is the oldest woman to be featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated‘s Swimsuit Issue, which also features Megan Fox, Kim Petras and Brooks Nader.

The lifestyle icon and former model shared some behind-the-scenes details about her photoshoot with The Today Show on Monday (May 15), saying, “to be on the cover at my age was a challenge. I think I met the challenge.”

The View airs weekdays at 11/10c on ABC. Watch the panel’s chat about Stewart in the clip above.
