It’s a new day at The CW… Sort of. After being officially taken over by Nexstar earlier this year, the network built by Supernatural and superhero series is taking a turn into something new. Or rather, something older, as the net has picked up a number of Canadian series to rerun for American audiences, as well as holding on to a few shows from the previous regime. And at the network’s primetime scheduling and strategy conference today in New York (held in lieu of the usual, flashy CW Upfront presentation), Nextsar’s Nü CW announced its full fall schedule for 2023-2024.

The schedule includes two holdovers from the previous version of The CW: All American, which is entering its sixth season; and the Jared Padalecki starring Walker, which is entering its fourth season and will premiere in midseason. They join Canadian imports like Sullivan’s Crossing and The Spencer Sisters, as well as the first half-hour comedy the network has seen since 2015 with Son of a Critch, starring Malcolm McDowell. It also brings back the canceled Max show Fboy Island, and later this year a spinoff titled Fgirl Island.

What the schedule doesn’t include is the still TBD fates of three series: Superman & Lois, Gotham Knights, and All American Homecoming.

“This fall, The CW embarks on the first step to become bigger and broader by offering our viewers a wide variety of programming from premium adult dramas to bold comedies and binge-worthy unscripted franchises,” Brad Schwartz, President of Entertainment, The CW Network said via a release provided to Decider. “We are presenting a fall lineup that includes classic CW series like the smash multiplatform hit All American plus introducing new premium dramatic offerings such as 61st Street, Sullivan’s Crossing, and The Spencer Sisters. We are proud to bring comedy back to The CW on Tuesday nights with some of the funniest and heartwarming family sitcoms on television with SON OF A CRITCHRUN THE BURBSCHILDREN RUIN EVERYTHING and EVERYONE ELSE BURNS. We are thrilled to welcome one of the biggest and most outrageous unscripted franchises on television, FBOY ISLAND, to The CW family alongside long-running hit alternative series PENN & TELLER: FOOL USWHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAY?MASTERS OF ILLUSION and WORLD’S FUNNIEST ANIMALS. And Sundays will introduce a season-long family co-viewing night beginning with the acclaimed I AM film franchise. The new CW is now a broadcast network built for a broadcast audience.”

In addition, the Critics Choice Awards will return to The CW, airing on January 14, 2024.
