Selling Sunset Season 6 is as dramatic as ever, with or without Christine Quinn.

Cast member Nicole Young, who worked with the Oppenheim Group for some time before joining the show this season, got into a heated showdown with fan-favorite Chrishell Stause, landing herself in some hot water with the audience.

Young has reportedly been receiving death threats and hate mail since Season 6 premiered on Netflix, according to TMZ.

TMZ reports the backlash has driven Young to back out of public appearances and podcast tapings. It has also started to impact her loved ones, with fans targeting her family as well.

“It’s been a really difficult time for Nicole,” a source told Page Six. “She comes from a regular, normal, private life to death threats and being called a meth addict overnight.”

In Season 6, Young and Stause found themselves in a heated showdown after Young accused her of taking credit on a listing they shared. She also accused her of getting special treatment from their boss and Stause’s ex-boyfriend, Jason Oppenheim.

The argument reached a breaking point when Stause accused Young of being on drugs.

“I don’t know what is in your drink or what you’re on, but I’m just saying I’m good with not having this conversation because it doesn’t seem like there is just wine in your glass,” she said. “You’ve been acting a little cracked out all night.”

Young threatened to sue Stause for defamation after she made those claims.

“When she first said it, I felt like I’d just been hit by a train,” Young told People. “It took me a moment to even process what she had said, and I was gutted. I was just absolutely gutted.”

But an inside source says what viewers were seeing on Selling Sunset is “not remotely the entire picture.”

“[Nicole] understands how viewers would find it confusing, as there really was no context given to the allegations and arguments made by Nicole,” the source told Page Six. “And Nicole being a completely new person while Chrishell has six seasons on her, I mean, of course it’s playing out this way.”

The source maintained that Young has found the audience backlash “frustrating” and has been having a “difficult” time with the negative attention.

“It’s definitely frustrating for her, but with time, the truth always prevails,” they said.
