As fans await Season 3 of The Witcher, Netflix has already seemingly renewed the popular fantasy series for a fifth season.
The show’s casting director Sophie Holland confirmed the news in a recent interview with Deadline.
“We’re just about to start filming on season four with Liam Hemsworth and there will be a short gap then we go straight into season five,” said Holland.
The forthcoming third season of the show will be split into two parts, the first of which will premiere on June 29. Volume Two will premiere in July and will be lead actor Henry Cavill‘s last appearance as Geralt.
Season 3 has promised to be a “faithful adaptation” of the novel Time of Contempt, a title that showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich is particularly excited about.
Starting with Season 4, Liam Hemsworth will take over as Geralt and clearly the platform has faith that viewership will remain high despite the White Wolf’s casting change.
That’s not surprising considering the hit series has been so successful that it spawned two spinoffs: the animated film Nightmare of the Wolf and the prequel series The Witcher: Blood Origin.
