Has Pedro Pascal‘s reign as the internet’s “daddy” officially run its course? According to his co-star Bella Ramsey, the bit might have “gone too far.”

The actor — who played Pascal’s daughter Ellie in the hit HBO drama The Last of Us — recently opened up about the ongoing joke while speaking to Vanity Fair.

“I very much played into it at the beginning, but now I’m worried it’s gone too far,” Ramsey told the outlet. “I don’t know whether he’s still loving it; I need to ask him. He’s a global phenomenon as he should be, because he’s pretty spectacular.”

The internet’s obsession with calling the Mandalorian star their daddy came while he was promoting The Last of Us earlier this year. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, he referred to himself as “your cool, slutty daddy” after reading a fan’s tweet which contained similar context. And thus, a viral trend was born.

The topic was brought up again in April when Pascal was asked who the “bigger daddy” was —  him or his friend and Triple Frontier co-star Oscar Isaac —  while taking Vanity Fair‘s lie detector test.

“I’m older than [Isaac]. Although he’s a real daddy. He’s got kids and I don’t,” he said. “But daddy is a state of mind, you know what I’m saying? I’m your daddy.”

While Ramsey is worried that the daddy joke may be overdone, Pascal recently assured fans that he’s still “having fun with it” during an actors roundtable for The Hollywood Reporter which was released by the outlet just last week.

“Yeah, I am having fun with it. It seems a little role-related, I think,” he speculated. “The Mandalorian is very daddy to the baby Grogu. Joel is very daddy to Ellie. These are daddy parts. That’s what it is.”

While he may forever be daddy to his fans, the star went on to remind his peers that he’s “not a daddy” and is “not gonna be a daddy” when it comes to having real, non-internet-based children.

You can watch Pascal in The Last of Us, which is currently streaming on Max.
