Euphoria fans are so hungry for a Season 3 they’ll take whatever they can get.

Amidst The Idol‘s poor reception after its Cannes debut, Euphoria and The Idol co-creator Sam Levinson teased that the two shows are technically set in the same universe. After it was revealed that Euphoria‘s Alexa Demie would make an appearance in the pilot episode, fans were left wondering if Demie would be appearing as Maddy Perez or as an original character on the show.

Followers of the raunchy teen drama tuned in for a glimpse of Demie, a notoriously mysterious actress who has laid relatively low since Euphoria Season 2 aired in 2022.

They were treated with a fun cameo from the actress, but her brief appearance may have left some with more questions than answers.

Was Maddy Perez in The Idol

Demie appears in The Idol‘s pilot episode, which premiered Sunday (June 4), at around the 25-minute mark when Lily-Rose Depp‘s character, Jocelyn, goes to a club with her entourage. Her character is seen dancing with BLACKPINK’s Jennie Ruby Jane, which made fans go wild.

Her appearance is brief — it’s a non-speaking role that barely lasts a few seconds. Still, fans on Twitter have been circulating the same blurry screenshots of Demie and Jane together, and a brief clip that shows the back of Demie’s head as the girls take shots.

“Ngl i skipped and saw jennie and alexa demie hugging and dancing together WE WON,” one fan tweeted.

Though the fun-loving characters bare a resemblance, Demie’s character in The Idol is rather nondescript. In fact, she isn’t even credited on the show’s IMDb page.

It leaves us wondering: Could that be Maddy Perez?

We might know Perez as a glamorous teenager who takes no prisoners, but Depp’s character is a world-famous pop star. It’s difficult to believe they run in the same circles.

Also, critics at Cannes viewed the first two episodes and it seems that this is the only appearance Demie makes so far.

There’s no telling if we’ll be seeing more of her later on, but for now it looks like this is all Euphoria fans will get from the mysterious actress for now.

New episodes of The Idol premiere Sundays on HBO. The Idol episode 1 is now streaming on Max.
