Sure, Tamra Judge made her highly anticipated grand return to The Real Housewives of Orange County. But did you catch Emily Simpson drinking out of a dog bowl after the dog had already used it? Twitter sure did — and fans can’t stop talking about the grotesque (but hilarious) moment.

During Wednesday night’s (June 7) Season 17 premiere episode, Simpson and fellow co-star Shannon Beador went on a hike with the latter’s dog. When Beador filled his bowl with water from her bottle, Simpson took it upon herself to then drink out of the same bowl once the dog had finished.

“OK, really? Yikes,” Beador said in shock. “Who drinks out of a dog bowl?”

Simpson went on to justify her decision while speaking to cameras in her confessional. She claimed, “I’ve always heard that a dog’s mouth is much cleaner than a human’s mouth. So I share spoons, forks, plates.”

While the confession is certainly … something … are we really that shocked? This is the same woman who iconically brought a full-blown sub sandwich into a sauna last season, after all.

Meanwhile, fans flocked social media to share their mixed feelings of both shock and repulsion over the “gross” scene.

“I’m not sure Emily is aware that dogs lick their own asshole, so how do they have the cleanest mouths? 🤮 ” one pointed out, while another added, “I was NOT ready for Emily to drink water out of a dog bowl 😭.”

A third person wrote, “Emily drinking out of the dog water dish that’s just plain crazy #RHOC not to mention gross,” before someone else said, “Emily drinking out of her dogs bowl. Absolutely FOUL.”

The Real Housewives of Orange County airs Wednesday nights at 8/7c on Bravo. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
