Need a new drinking game? Take a sip every time you heard someone say the word “throuple” during this morning’s episode of The View. And feel free to down a whole shot when you find out how much Whoopi Goldberg knows about the subject.

The panel chatted about three-way relationships this morning following Raquel Leviss‘ admission that she suggested a throuple to Tom Sandoval while he was still dating her now former BFF Ariana Madix during their widely publicized affair on Wednesday night’s (June 7) Vanderpump Rules reunion episode.

Naturally, Bravo aficionado Alyssa Farah Griffin was the first to jump in with her thoughts on Leviss’ bombshell confession.

“Not that I’ve ever initiated a throuple, but I don’t think that’s how it works,” she joked. “I think you gotta sit down before you sleep with the boyfriend and be like, ‘I’d like to enter this relationship. What do you guys think?’”

Sara Haines — who added that she, too, has “not engaged in a throuple” — believes that you have to have “trust and honesty” in any relationship. And with Leviss telling cameras that Sandoval is going to “kill” her for outing their secrets, it’s clear that even they “can’t get on the same page.”

Meanwhile, Sunny Hostin described how she thinks a “healthier version” of a couple could turn into a throuple.

“The problem I had was — and again, I don’t have a lot of throuple experience, either — but I thought the couple got together, decided they wanted to throuple and then looked around for the throuplee,” she said. “I don’t know why [Leviss] thought that was gonna work out for her.”

As for whether Goldberg knows anything about the subject, she replied, “Yes, I do. I know a lot about throuples.”

When Haines asked if she thinks they work, the moderator said she doesn’t “judge” anybody.

“I believe things work for whoever they work for. I don’t judge anybody,” she told the panel. “That’s why I don’t tell y’all much about what I know and how I know it. People do what they do. They experiment and if it works for them and they can handle it. Who am I to say, ‘You shouldn’t be doing that!’”

Goldberg ended the segment on a light-hearted note after her co-host followed up by inquiring if she had ever been involved in a throuple.

“Have I throupled up?” Goldberg repeated. “Only in the animal world.”

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
