We find ourselves in a bit of a good news/bad news situation because the final two episodes of Jack Ryan are now streaming on Prime Video. It’s been quite a ride for our favorite “bright boy,” hasn’t it? Based on the character created by Tom Clancy, the John Krasinski-led thriller first debuted in August of 2018 on Amazon, delivering four seasons (30 episodes) of action and intrigue.

The final season, which debuted in June of 2023, focuses on the titular character’s most dangerous mission to date as Ryan uncovers internal corruption via a series of suspicious black ops that could expose the vulnerability of the country. Per Amazon, “As Jack and the team investigate how deep the corruption runs, he discovers a far-worse reality — the convergence of a drug cartel with a terrorist organization — ultimately revealing a conspiracy much closer to home and testing our hero’s belief in the system he has always fought to protect.”

The final two episodes of the series — Season 4, Episodes 5 and 6 (“Wukong” and “Proof of Concept”) — premiere Friday, July 14 on Prime Video.

For now… yes. The fourth season is the final installment of this particular iteration of Jack Ryan.

Will There Be a Season 5 of Jack Ryan?

Nope. But that doesn’t mean that this is the end of the Jack Ryan franchise on Prime Video. A potential spinoff series headlined by Michael Peña (Domingo Chavez) is rumored to be in development, but that was announced in May of 2022 and specific details remain elusive.

“I have no idea [if the spin-off is happening] to be honest with you,” Peña told Digital Spy during a recent interview. “That’s between Amazon and the Clancy estate. I think the fans want to see [it].”

The actor went on to express his admiration for fan favorite Mike November.

“I [personally] want to see more of Michael Kelly’s character [Mike November]. That’s what I want to see,” Pena said. “You know, I’m such a big fan, and working with the guy and John Krasinski was awesome too. But we’ll see what the fans want.”

Everything’s up in the air right now due to the writers’/actors’ strikes. The series finale hinted at Ryan’s future political career, and rumors persist that Krasinski could reprise his role for a Rainbow Six film or spinoff. Both critically and commercially, the Jack Ryan franchise has done very well for Prime Video, so we expect some sort of continuation in the future. We’ll just have to wait and see.
