Some couples get married in a church; others get married on a beach. But Hollywood couple Jason Biggs and Jenny Mollen opted to tie the knot in a FedEx parking lot. While filling in for Kelly Ripa on this morning’s episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, Mollen told host Mark Consuelos all about their “romantic” ceremony back in 2008.

Before their Napa Valley nuptials, Mollen’s pilates instructor had told her about a woman who would come marry them in their home. When she thought it would be “funny” to have someone waltz in and marry them while they were lying in bed, she decided to reach out.

“I call her on the phone and she says, ‘I can’t come to your house today but I could meet you if you want to come to Calabasas — I’m at a FedEx Kinkos,'” Mollen recalled to a curious Consuelos. “In retrospect, I’m like how can we have gotten married anywhere else?”

She added, “We did it in the parking lot right next to Taco Bell. It was very romantic.”

While Mollen and Biggs — who share two children — have been going strong for more than a decade, things didn’t necessarily start on the right foot. The actress told Consuelos that they met on a blind date while she was auditioning for My Best Friend’s Girl. According to her, the movie’s producer — who was trying to date her sister at the time — had given her two audition tapes to choose from, one of them being from Biggs.

“I was just like, ‘Jason Biggs? That guy from American Pie?’ I wasn’t gonna root for him,” Mollen admitted. “He was more famous than me. So why would I want him to get any more success in life? I had to think of myself!”

However, she ended up finding Biggs to be “funny” and “talented” based on his tapes, prompting the producer to suggest a double date.

“[Jason and I] had a phone call the night before the date and Jason was not funny on the phone call,” she said. “So I call my sister back, I’m like, ‘I’m over it. I don’t want to date an actor. I’m not going.’ And she said, ‘Jenny, it’s free sushi. You have to go.’”

Mollen continued, “I went. The sushi was amazing. And Jason and I were married nine months later. So it works out.”
