Are you ready to head back to Monster High? Based on the product line from Mattel, the spooky mash-up of monsters and singing teens was a huge hit for Nickelodeon and Paramount+ when Monster High: The Movie debuted last year. And now it’s time to go back to school this Fall with Decider’s exclusive look at Monster High 2.

In the clip, you get a good look at some of the returning cast, including Mila Harris as Clawdeen Wolf, Ceci Balagot as Frankie Stein, and Nayah Damasen as Draculaura as they sing, and dance, and do monstrous things – but not too monstrous, because this is for kids, okay?

Previously teased as Monster High: The Movie 2, the now less awkwardly titled Monster High 2 still has its plot under wraps (this is a mummy joke), but we do know that the musical movie will involve the kids facing a new threat to the school while balancing schoolwork and romance. And also being monsters. You know, teen stuff. And if you’re curious to check it out, while Monster High 2 won’t premiere until later this Fall (exact date TBA), our reviewer gave the first movie a “STREAM IT” so hopefully this sequel holds up to the high standard set by the original.

Also in the cast are Case Walker as Deuce Gorgon, Marci T. House as Headmistress Bloodgood, Steve Valentine as Dracula, Jy Prishkulnik as Cleo de Nile, Lina Lecompte as Lagoona Blue, Justin Derickson as Heath Burns, Lilah Fitzgerald as Ghoulia Yelps, and Nasiv Sall as Abbey Bominable. Todd Holland returns as director, and the screenplay is by Matt Eddy and Billy Eddy, based on a story by Holland and the Eddys.

The teaser clip comes in advance of this week’s San Diego Comic-Con, though you won’t see any of the cast or writers at the convention due to the ongoing SAG and WGA strikes. As actors and writers fight for the money they rightfully deserve in compensation for their work, among other issues, it’s probably important to note that the clip you’re watching wouldn’t exist without their contributions.

Still, Monster High waits for no strike, and as it is a Mattel property as well, will still have a big presence at the convention — including a signing with Monster High designers celebrating 13 years of the property. Hey, Monster High is a teen now! Cool! Expect toys, games, and a whole lot more as we head towards the release of Monster High 2 this Fall on Paramount+.
