There should be, considering that Sweet Magnolias Season 3 is currently the #1 show on Netflix. Still, y’all know how Netflix is: they tend to take their slow, sweet time when it comes to announcing show renewals. So while there’s no word yet about Sweet Magnolias coming back for Season 4, there’s not necessarily reason to worry just yet.

If the show does come back for Season 4, it’ll have plenty of storylines to pick up — plenty that were introduced in the Season 3 finale. SPOILER ALERT, but, we still don’t know what Mayor Lewis was up to with those misappropriated funds, and Helen keeps urging Peggy to run for office. Also what’s up with Helen and Erik? And will Erik’s new relationship with Genevieve going to stand in the way of his and Helen’s reconciliation? Isaac was about to tell Noreen something important, probably that he’s the half-brother of her baby daughter. The season finale even gave us Annie and Ty holding hands! There are just too many loose ends and new storylines for the show to stop now!

Sorry for the drought of definitive answers, but we just don’t know yet. Even if the show does get picked up for Season 4, there’s truly no way to know — or even guess — when it will premiere on Netflix. There are currently two strikes going on in Hollywood, one involving the WGA and the other with SAG-AFTRA. Sweet Magnolias — as well as pretty much every other show — can’t make another season until the strikes end. Reminder: without the labor of the writers and actors currently on strike, Sweet Magnolias would not exist.
