Why Isn’t ‘Love Island USA’ On Tonight?

Love Island USA is the perfect reality show for those that want to live out their ultimate summer dreams vicariously through a bunch of 20-something hotties. Its near-daily release schedule makes it easy to really lose yourself in the ins and outs of life inside the Fiji mojo dojo casa house. But wait — I said “near-daily.” Does that mean — there’s no new episode of Love Island USA Season 5 tonight?! What is going on?!

Why isn’t Love Island USA on tonight?

Love Island USA isn’t on tonight because the show takes Wednesdays off. Seriously, the show drops new episodes from Thursday to Tuesday, working over the weekend to deliver you lots of soapy drama in real time. They deserve a night off, and Wednesday is that night!

When will Love Island USA Season 5 return to Peacock?

New episodes of Love Island USA start up again on Thursday, July 27 at 9 p.m. ET and will continue through to Tuesday, August 1. Then we’ll continue to get new episodes every Thursday through Tuesday through the end of August. Got that?

Is Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix on Love Island USA?

Well, she was last night (that’s Tuesday night). But just to clarify — Ariana Madix wasn’t joining the cast of Love Island (although don’t you kinda want to see her pull Bergie for a chat?). Instead, she was flown into the villa in Fiji to host the night’s big challenge: Mr. & Mrs.! The Newlywed Game-style challenge tested all of the couples to see which girls knew the most details about their guys and vice versa. The winner received something that’s never been offered in Love Island USA history: immunity from the first public vote and getting dumped from the island. So, uh, Ariana’s appearance was a big deal even if she’s not actually joining the cast.

And if you need a rundown of what’s to come when the show returns on Thursday night — uh, we could see the unceremonious, tragic end of the greatest love story ever told: Bergie and Cameron!

What’s coming up next on Love Island USA Season 5?

Somehow gentle, inexperienced soul Bergie has won the attention of (as well as some affection from) Cameron… despite the fact that she’s paired with Jason Momoa lookalike Victor.

Bergie and Cameron were essentially just running out the clock on their current pairings, with Bergie’s current match Kassy helping him step up his flirt game. Victor, however, hasn’t been happy about all the time Cameron’s been spending with Bergie, nor was Victor happy that she instead chose to kiss Bergie during the Indiana Jones-themed challenge. Things are tense — but they could get so much worse! And by “worse” I mean “boring.”

Marco and Hannah won immunity for winning Mr. & Mrs. and they gifted immunity to Leonardo and Anna. That means that there are only four couples left: Kenan and Kay Kay; Destiny and Harrison; Bergie and Kassy; and Cameron and Victor. And real talk: those first two couples are actually coupled up. In a popularity contest, it seems unlikely that the estranged Victor and Cameron are gonna win many votes.

Uuuugghh DO NOT TAKE BERGIE’S LOVE AWAY! He needs this! We need this!! This is good TV!!! The nerd is literally winning over the hot blonde from the jacked jock! This doesn’t happen on these shows, especially Love Island! This is the most entertaining storyline this season by far, and if they let it end just because these two couldn’t get to a recoupling fast enough — ? I will lose it!
