Following the heartbreaking news of Angus Cloud‘s shocking death at 25 years old, his Euphoria family has been mourning his loss on social media.

While his cause of death is unknown, TMZ reported that Cloud’s mother made a 911 call for a “possible overdose” Monday (July 31) and said the actor didn’t have a pulse. He was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene.

Cloud’s family released a statement to the outlet, where they revealed he was struggling with the recent loss of his father at the time of his death.

“It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today,” they said in the statement. “As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways.”

They continued, “Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.”

Cloud rose to fame with HBO’s Euphoria after getting discovered by the show’s casting director while working at a Brooklyn restaurant. He played Fezco — Rue’s (Zendaya) drug dealer-turned-friend and Lexi’s (Maude Apatow) Season 2 love interest.

“There was no one quite like Angus. He was too special, too talented and way too young to leave us so soon,” Euphoria creator Sam Levinson said in a statement, per Deadline. “He also struggled, like many of us, with addiction and depression. I hope he knew how many hearts he touched. I loved him. I always will. Rest in peace and God Bless his family.”

Drake, who is an executive producer on the show, posted a photo of Cloud to his Instagram Story and wrote, “Good soul 😥🕊️.”

Javon Walton, who plays Fez’s younger brother Ashtray, captioned an Instagram Story, “rest easy brother❤️🕊️,” and wrote, “forever family ❤️,” under a photo posted to his feed.

“The tears just won’t stop,” Storm Reid, who plays Rue’s younger sister Gia, captioned a clip from Season 2 of the series posted to her Instagram Story. The touching moment shows the budding romance between Fez and Lexi as they watch the end of Stand By Me.

“#anguscloud @anguscloud you were a gentle beautiful soul. You exited [too] soon,” Kathrine Narducci, who stars as his grandmother, posted on X (formerly Twitter).

Euphoria’s social media page also shared a tribute to Cloud.

“We are incredibly saddened to learn of the passing of Angus Cloud,” they said. “He was immensely talented and a beloved part of the HBO and Euphoria family. We extend our deepest condolences to his friends and family during this difficult time.”
