Treat Williamstragic passing in June has been revealed to be caused by “severe trauma and blood loss” directly following a motorcycle accident.

The June 12 crash took place in Dorset, Vermont, where Ryan Koss “attempted to turn left into a parking lot,” crashing his Honda SUV into Williams, who was riding on his motorcycle.

According to the Vermont State Police report, Williams was airlifted to Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York, where he was pronounced dead. Koss, 35, was checked for minor injuries at the scene, but was not transported to a hospital.

On Tuesday (Aug. 1), the report disclosed that Koss is being charged with “grossly negligent” driving. He was processed and released on Tuesday evening, and will be arraigned on Sept. 25 in the Criminal Division of Vermont Superior Court in Bennington.

Williams began his career in 1975 in the crime thriller Deadly Hero. His most notable performances include his role as George Berger in the 1979 musical Hair and Dr. Andrew Brown in the WB drama series Everwood.

Williams’ loss was mourned by many, including his Hair co-star Beverly D’Angelo, who posted a heartfelt tribute in his honor on Instagram on June 13.

His on-screen son in The Christmas House, Jonathan Bennett, also took to Instagram to honor him, sharing that he had “never met someone like Treat.” He also highlighted that he “wanted to make sure as a TV father he was on camera giving his gay son’s husband a huge hug and kiss when [they] showed up for Christmas,” a powerful moment in Hallmark’s first holiday film with a leading queer couple.

Williams’ most recent roles included cameos as Detective Lenny Ross in Blue Bloods and his role as Mick O’Brien in Hallmark’s Chesapeake Shores.
