The heroes in a half-shell are once again coming to the big screen this weekend, with the release of the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie in theaters.

The new animated film, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, opens in theaters this weekend and it marks the seventh theatrical Turtles film. (This is not including the TV movies that were continuations of series, like Netflix’s Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie.) Gen X nerds no doubt fondly fondly remember the TMNT comic books, action figures, and ’80s cartoon that first launched the reptilian superhero team into fame. But for mainstream audiences, it was the TMNT movies that first introduced them to adventures of Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael.

Whether you’re looking to take a trip down memory lane before the new movie or delving into the Ninja Turtle Cinematic Universe for the first time, now is the perfect time to watch all of the movies. Luckily, if you have a Paramount+ account, it’s easy. All of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movies are streaming on Paramount+. Subscribers in the U.S. can get a premium Paramount+ plan for $9.99/month, or an ad-supported plan for $5.99/month.

No Paramount+ subscription? No problem! There are other ways to watch. Scroll down to see how to watch all of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies in order of release date, and click through on the links to see where to watch each Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.

  1. ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ (1990)

The first live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, directed by Steve Barron, was a box office hit. Brian Tochi, Robbie Rist, Corey Feldman, and Josh Pais voiced the team of reptilian superheroes. There’s something magical about those ’90s TMNT costumes, which were designed by beloved Muppets creator Jim Henson. You may think they look silly now, but the costumes utilized state-of-the-art animatronics to get those distinctive turtle facial expressions. You just don’t get that kind of creativity and heart with CGI!

  2. ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze’ (1991)

One year after the success of the first movie, New Line Cinema kept the ball rolling with a sequel. In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II, this time directed by Michael Pressman, the turtles get a little more fun and silly with it, as they face down some new villains: Tokka and Rahzar. Paige Turco replaced Judith Hoag as the human protagonist, April O’Neil, and, like the first film, the sequel was a box-office success.

  3. ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III’ (1993)

The third and final installment in the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film series is generally considered to be the worst of the OGs. Still, if you’re on a roll with the ’90s TMNT movies, you might as well complete the set. This time around, the turtles are sent back in time for an adventure in feudal Japan—so be prepared for some ’90s-era racial insensitivities.

  4. ‘TMNT’ (2007)

Considered a “standalone sequel” to the 1993 Turtles film, this computer-animated movie brought in actors James Arnold Taylor, Nolan North, Mitchell Whitfield, and Mikey Kelley to be the new voices of the turtles. The film was not well-received by critics, but you might have fun with some of the familiar names in the voice cast, including Chris Evans, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Mako, Kevin Smith, and Patrick Stewart.

  5. ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ (2014)

Ah, the inevitable mid-2010s reboot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Born out of the post-Michael-Bay-Transformers era, this movie attempts to turn those mischievous teenage turtles into sexy action stars, complete with bulging turtle muscles. It’s A Lot. Johnny Knoxville, Jeremy Howard, Alan Ritchson, and Noel Fisher voice the turtles, while Megan Fox and Will Arnett star as the human leads.

  6. ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows’ (2016)

Even though critics didn’t like the 2014 reboot, it was a hit at the box office and therefore got a sequel. This time around, the turtle beefcakes faced off with the alien villain Krang in the rainforests of Brazil. Turtles on vacay! Though the reviews for this sequel were slightly better than the 2014 movie, it failed to deliver at the box office, so plans for a third reboot film were killed.

  7. ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem’ (2023)

This new animated reboot comes from comedy duo Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, who produced the film and co-wrote the screenplay with director Jeff Rowe, Dan Hernandez, and Benji Samit. Actors Micah Abbey, Shamon Brown Jr., Nicolas Cantu, and Brady Noon are the new voices of the turtles, and the additional voice cast includes Hannibal Buress, Rose Byrne, John Cena, Jackie Chan, and Ice Cube. This time around, the reptilian heroes have a new goal: To be seen as normal teens after years of isolation. Right now, the new Ninja Turtles movie is only available to watch in movie theaters, but we do expect the movie will stream on Paramount+ after its theatrical run.
