Get excited, Jenny Han fans and love triangle stans! Amazon just announced that they have renewed The Summer I Turned Pretty for a third season consisting of ten episodes.

According to Amazon’s press release Thursday (Aug. 3), TSITP has ranked as “one of the 10 most watched seasons of any series ever on the service.”

The release also noted that the series received this season renewal prior to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, and that its production “will not begin until after labor negotiations with those unions have been resolved.”

Head of television at Amazon and MGM Studios Vernon Sanders stated, “We’ve been delighted to see the passion with which fans have embraced The Summer I Turned Pretty, making Summer Fridays an entertainment phenomenon.”

Sanders added that the “charming, deeply heartfelt series has shown the breadth of [their] customer base,” and credited Jenny Han as a gifted storyteller, whose fans have been clamoring for the third chapter of this story.”

“We’re excited today to share the news that they have a lot more Summer to look forward to,” Sanders continued.

The series based on Jenny Han’s book trilogy follows 16-year-old Isabel “Belly” Conklin (Lola Tung) as she navigates the love triangle between her and Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah Fisher (Gavin Casalego), while visiting them on her family’s annual trip to the Fisher’s house at Cousins Beach. Han is one of the series’ leading showrunners alongside Sarah Kucserka.

Han’s work has also inspired Netflix’s To All The Boys film trilogy and its subsequent TV spinoff XO, Kitty. She took to Instagram to celebrate today’s announcement by posting a picture of Tung, writing that “it’s been hard not being able to work on the show because of the ongoing strikes, but we can’t wait to get going on Season 3 as soon as we’re able.”

The most recent season of TSITP has taken a more emotional turn from its series debut, as the gang is on a mission to save their beloved beach house from being sold out from under them by their estranged Aunt Julia.

New episodes of The Summer I Turned Pretty are released on Fridays on Prime Video.
