‘And Just Like That’ and Bravo Collide: ‘Million Dollar Listing New York’s Ryan Serhant Teams Up with Seema

Max‘s And Just Like That… and Bravo officially exist in the same universe! At least, that’s what we learned when Million Dollar Listing New York alum Ryan Serhant stopped by And Just Like That... Season 2 Episode 9 “There Goes the Neighborhood” to help real estate diva Seema Patel (Sarita Choudhury) find new client/love interest Ravi Gordi (Armin Amiri) the perfect luxury rental. Serhant plays himself in the cameo which not only sets up Seema’s new romance, but also lays the stage for a very New York City real estate-centric episode of And Just Like That… on Max.

We learned in last week’s episode of And Just Like That... that Seema’s real estate brokerage was having difficulty matching Marvel movie director Ravi Gordi with a rental apartment in the city. And Just Like That… Season 2 Episode 9 episode reveals their hunt has lasted for weeks and weeks. It’s gone so poorly, Seema has had to enlist help from real-life New York City realtor Ryan Serhant. Unfortunately, Ravi sneers at the $37,000/month rental, which forces Seema to corner the demanding director. The twist is that he’s been turning down apartments just to spend more time with Seema. Once Serhant is out of the way, the two have sex in the apartment. It’s a line Seema has never crossed before and Ravi agrees to rent the place to cover their tracks. Nevertheless, Serhant still catches Seema’s bedhead and surmises that she did what she had to in order to close the deal.

Of course, this isn’t the only deal Seema scored this week. In addition to locking down Ravi as both a client and a love interest, she hooked Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) up with a Gramercy Park duplex. Carrie dramatically has decided to sell her iconic Sex and the City apartment so she can start a new chapter with Aidan (John Corbett) in the new place.

But who is Ryan Serhant? Why did And Just Like That… give him a cameo? And is Carrie’s new apartment a real place you can rent or buy IRL?

Who is Ryan Serhant? The Million Dollar Listing Star Who Cameos on And Just Like That… Season 2 Episode 9 “There Goes the Neighborhood”

Ryan Serhant plays himself on this week’s episode of And Just Like That… Serhant is a 39-year-old real estate broker and reality television star best-known for his run on all nine seasons of Bravo’s Million Dollar Listing New York. He also appeared in a spin-off called Sell It Like Serhant, wherein he advised struggling realtors on how to improve their game.

Is Carrie’s New Apartment on And Just Like That… a Real Gramercy Park Apartment?

Maybe the biggest thing to happen on this week’s episode of And Just Like That... was Carrie’s decision to sell her iconic brownstone apartment to start fresh with Aidan. Seema hooks her up with a cavernous duplex in Gramercy Park. We hear it has four bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a key to the iconic gated park.

Gramercy Park is a historic neighborhood in New York City, located between Park Ave and Third Ave and East 21st and 20th Streets. (That’s just northeast of Union Square.) It was originally built in the mid-19th century and has a strong aesthetic association with the novels of Edith Wharton and Henry James. Even the And Just Like That… writers referenced the area’s “Age of Innocence” vibes during the official companion podcast to the show.

According to And Just Like That… showrunner Michael Patrick King, the team always knew Carrie wouldn’t give up her long-time home for anything less than “someplace magical.” King said the inspiration for the set — confirming they did not shoot this on location — was a Gramercy Park apartment Sex and the City and And Just Like That… executive producer John Melfi lived in during the SATC days.

So, no, Carrie’s new Gramercy Park apartment isn’t real, but inspired by real homes in New York City.
