The producers of Daisy Jones & the Six say they are “not giving up” hope on the band performing live in concert or for the show to return.

Scott Neustadter and wife Lauren Neustadter, who were head of the production team that adapted Taylor Jenkins Reid‘s Daisy Jones manuscript to television, recently spoke to Variety about the show’s potential future.

There had been previous talks about planning a real-life Daisy Jones & the Six concert, but the idea was put on hold due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.

The Neustadters, however, feel that a live show is inevitable. “We’re not giving up,” says Lauren. “I believe they will perform. the question is when.”

If and when the concert does happen, the Neustadters believe it could help lay the groundwork for a brand new season of the show.

“If any time Amazon came to us and said, ‘what would it be?,’ we would put our little thinking caps on about it,” said Lauren with regard to a possible Season 2.

“It’s super fun to sit and talk to Taylor for hours about where we think we could take this next,” added Scott. “It was a calculated move to move [the flash forwards] to their 40s. There’s a lot of life left to live, so there could be a future.”

Daisy Jones & the Six was produced by Reese Witherspoon‘s Hello Sunshine banner and was co-created by Michael Weber, along with Scott. It starred Riley Keough, Sam Claflin and Camila Morrone, among others.

Season 1 of Daisy Jones & the Six is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
