Why Is ‘The View’ Showing Reruns?

It’s been more than week since The View has aired some new material — so we understand why you may be wondering why ABC is only playing reruns. Luckily, we have you covered!

The last time we saw Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, Joy Behar and Alyssa Farah Griffin was on Friday, Aug. 4. During the episode, Behar called out the show’s lack of Emmy victories, while Griffin and Hostin engaged in a fiery debate over politics.

So, why exactly is The View off the air today? When will it be back with new episodes?

Why isn’t The View on today?

The View is currently on summer hiatus — meaning new episodes won’t air today or for the next few weeks. In place of the live broadcast, reruns of previous episodes will air on ABC.

When does The View return?

Every year, The View takes off the final weeks of August for a well-deserved break. Since the rerun lineup is scheduled through Monday, Sept. 4, the co-hosts should return with new material the following day on Tuesday, Sept. 5.

What episode of The View will air today?

The View might not be airing new episodes for the rest of the month, but ABC will be playing reruns, meaning you can catch up on anything you might’ve missed!
