You know what they say: kill ’em with kindness. On this morning’s pre-taped episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, Kelly Ripa was stunned to find Mark Consuelos complimenting her outfit shortly after she made fun of how he is aging.

The married couple walked onto the Live set to Paramore’s “Still Into You,” before settling into their chairs. While Ripa officially declared that we’re living in the “dog days of summer,” Consuelos went on to give his older sister a birthday shoutout.

“Hey! It’s my sister’s birthday today. Happy birthday, Adriana! You are now two years older than me,” he joked. “Sometimes she’s a year older than me and now she’s two years — in the number — older than me. Just thought I’d remind you about that.”

Despite Consuelos having the looks of someone half his age, Ripa reminded the 52-year-old actor that he is “no spring chicken” himself. In response to her playful dig, he opted to play it safe by telling her she looks “beautiful” and saying he “loves” her bright yellow dress.

“Why are you being nice to me?” a shocked Ripa asked, to which Consuelos replied, “I’m not. I’m not being nice to you. I just appreciate this dress.”

The duo — who have been married for 27 years — never shy away from flirting on camera. Earlier this month, Ripa praised the Riverdale alum’s “gorgeous” legs and suggested that he try on a pair of “Daisy Dudes” — which are the male equivalent to the iconic Daisy Dukes.

“I have seen your legs up close and in person. You’ve got gorgeous legs. Gorgeous. You should wear Daisy Dudes,” Ripa begged, before later adding, “It’s what the women want! And some of the men, I suspect!”

Unfortunately, she was met with objection by Consuelos, who joked that he would need “a lot of therapy” after sporting the new trend.
