This biggest Hot Topic on this morning’s episode of The View had nothing to do with political discussions or advice columns. Instead, it had everything to do with Alyssa Farah Griffin‘s hilarious wardrobe blunder.

The co-host sported a blue and white striped blouse, which awkwardly hung off one of her shoulders, while her newly-highlighted hair covered the other. Joy Behar was the first to roast Griffin’s interesting fashion choice during the first segment of the show.

(Editor’s Note: The View is currently on hiatus; despite what you may have heard, The View was not canceled today. This article was originally published on July 13, 2023, when this episode first aired. The View will return with new episodes in September 2023.)

“I’m fascinated by that shirt you’re wearing,” she interrupted, while Whoopi Goldberg chimed in, “I didn’t want to bring it up. I wasn’t gonna say anything!”

The rest of the panel giggled as Griffin revealed that she wasn’t sure if she was wearing the shirt right, but she “liked it” and was “just gonna go with it,” before shifting back to the discussion at hand.

However, it wasn’t the last time her unusual garb would come up in conversation today. When the show returned from the commercial break toward the end of the episode, Goldberg was holding a pair of scissors — seemingly ready to fix Griffin’s shirt.

“I don’t want anybody to get nervous, but we have been talking about this shirt,” the moderator said. “And I really feel like somebody needs to cut it so that it works.”

But before she jumped to conclusions, Goldberg called out The View’s longtime stylist, Fran Taylor — who confirmed that Griffin was wearing the shirt wrong the entire time.

“That makes so much more sense,” Griffin said as Taylor adjusted her shirt to no longer hang off her shoulder. “I think I didn’t follow instructions.”

While the former White House staffer joked that she was going for the “cold-shoulder look,” Taylor pointed out that she looked like she was an extra in Flashdance.

“That was not as shocking as her looking like she just came out from under a building,” Goldberg quipped, while Griffin admitted you “cannot trust” her with fashion.

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
