Howie Mandel might have just become the puppet master behind America’s Got Talent co-judge Sofia Vergara‘s love life.

Tuesday night’s (Aug. 22) AGT episode featured a performance by young ventriloquist Brynn Cummings and her puppet Penelope, during which they enlisted judge Heidi Klum to help Penelope find a romantic puppet partner.

Out of a wide selection of “love matches,” Klum ultimately selected a love bird who is a world traveler, and Cummings shocked both the judges and the audience when she pulled the exact puppet Heidi chose out on stage, and even got the audience involved by having them hold up a picture of the exact puppet.

After a round of applause, Mandel was the first judge to commend the “adorable” Cummings for her work, reiterating that she “deserve[s] to be here.”

However, he made sure to impart “one word of advice” to the young talent.

“If you’re looking for eligible bachelors, you should’ve talked to Sofia because she’s in the market right now,” he said.

Vergara, who announced in July that she is getting a divorce after a seven-year-long marriage to actor Joe Manganiello, was a good sport. Amid laughter, she threw her hands up in the air and exclaimed, “Yeah!”

AGT host Terry Crews came to Vergara’s defense, telling Mandel, “No, we are not doing that.”

He then quickly transitioned to Klum for comments, who thanked Cummings for picking her.

“I think I did a fantastic job, and so did you!” Klum told Cummings.

Vergara and Manganiello shared the following statement with Page Six last month announcing their split: “We have made the difficult decision to divorce. As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.”

According to People, last night’s episode marked Vergara’s return to set to film live tapings of AGT since the divorce.

America’s Got Talent airs episodes Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 8/7c on NBC. Next-day streaming is available on Peacock. Watch Cummings’ performance above.
