Breaking the fourth wall has become a common trend on Season 17 of The Real Housewives of Orange County. After Shannon Beador stepped away from cameras to confront a producer when the women began discussing her relationship on an episode that aired earlier this month, the same type of situation happened again on tonight’s episode — and even added Emily Simpson to the mix.
During the blowout fight at Tamra Judge and Jennifer Pedranti‘s “You Do Me and I Do You” party, the women revealed that Beador has been the one discussing her relationship issues off-camera — even though she believes Heather Dubrow is the source of the gossip.
On tonight’s episode, the two women meet up to hash things out prior to Beador’s fiesta dinner party, which is happening later that night. While Dubrow insists that she’s “never initiated a conversation” about her friend’s relationship with now-ex-boyfriend John Janssen, Beador doesn’t believe her as she eventually storms off and orders a producer to take off her microphone.
Later on, Simpson FaceTimes Beador to tell her that she’s going to be late to the party — however, things turn sour as the former takes Dubrow’s side.
“You know what, Shannon? You share a bunch of bullshit to everyone off-camera and then you don’t want to take any accountability for it. I’m tired of it always being everybody else’s fault, Shannon,” Simpson fumes. “You are two different people, Shannon. You are Jekyll and Hyde, and I’m tired of it.”

After the two hang up, Beador breaks down in tears over Simpson’s “disappointing and hurtful statement,” before turning to producers and begging them to “not film this.”
“I’m out. You guys have the fucking party,” she says. “I didn’t sign up for this. I didn’t. Please, can they not film this? This is my fucking life.”
She continues, “If they’re assholes enough to bring up the details: does he spend enough time with me? Is there gonna be enough money? His kid doesn’t like me. I can’t talk about that on camera. This can’t go on the camera. That’s hurtful to John. That’s the shit that I talked about. That’s it.”
Meanwhile, Simpson vents her own issues with Beador to producers on her end. Hell, she’s so “pissed” she decides to skip out on the taco dinner — even though tacos are her “favorite food.”
“I am so sick of the bullshit victim where, ‘I share things with you and you betrayed me,'” she tells them. “You’re on a fucking reality show! Fucking talk about it if it’s normal relationship things. That’s bullshit.”
The Real Housewives of Orange County airs on Wednesday nights at 8/7c on Bravo. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
