Do you love movies about old guys who used to be trained killers and put their skills to good use to protect their families? Welcome to The Retirement Plan, where Nicolas Cage plays Matt, a guy who’s just trying to retire peacefully in the Cayman Islands, when his daughter and granddaughter turn up needing help escaping a crime boss. Good thing he knows how to kill people! Ron Perlman, who was perfectly cast in Poker Face as a ruthless criminal, takes up that post again here, as he tries to avoid getting his ass kicked by Cage.
Past Lives
Past Lives comes from writer-director Celine Song, and co-stars Greta Lee and Teo Yoo as friends Nora and Hae Sung who met as children in South Korea but lost touch after Nora’s family moved to Canada. They reconnect through the years and, though they each have relationships with other people, explore their friendship and wonder what might have been had Nora never left.
