As Joey Tribbiani once so eloquently uttered on Friends, “these really are the Days of our Lives.” However, it might not seem that way when an episode of NBC’s historic soap opera seems to have gone missing.
With the recent ousting of series co-EP Albert Alarr following an investigation for misconduct prompted by cast members, the show went on an “unplanned hiatus” from July 28 until August 7, per Deadline. However, the hiatus didn’t interfere with the episode airing schedule, as everyday since then has accounted for with a new episode.
With the announcement of legendary actor Dick Van Dyke making his soap opera debut on an episode airing this week, fans were even more eager to watch the new episode, which as of earlier this morning, was nowhere to be found on Peacock.
The streaming provider replied to frantic fans on X (the platform formerly known as Twitter), writing at 12:40 p.m. ET that “this episode is not currently available,” and encouraging viewers “to check back at a later time for updates.”

Soap opera fans, rejoice! At 1:43 p.m. ET, Peacock’s TV Care team’s X account updated fans on the status of the episode, revealing that “Season 59 Episode 1 is now available on Peacock.”
They also instructed fans to “sign out of [their] Peacock account and sign back in to start streaming the latest episode,” and to DM them with any questions.
The episode, which is marked “Peacock exclusive,” has been uploaded with the following synopsis: “Chloe is shocked to see Philip; Sarah is rushed to the hospital.”
As for those interested in Van Dyke’s appearance on the show, an interview between him and Days of our Lives star and Daytime Emmy-award winner Eric Martsolf is available to watch, and reveals that Van Dyke’s cameo involves him playing a man who doesn’t remember who he is, but ultimately recalls his identity in what he deems is “a big surprise!”
Days of our Lives releases episodes on weekdays on Peacock at 6 a.m. ET.
