CRACK. That’s the sound of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny whipping onto digital this week, just two months after the movie opened in theaters.

The fifth, and supposedly final, movie in the Indiana Jones franchise, The Dial of Destiny finds 81-year-old star Harrison Ford once again donning his signature hat and whip. Directed by James Mangold, with Steven Spielberg and George Lucas serving as executive producers, the film is set in 1969, about thirty years after the events of Raiders of the Lost Ark. This time around, Indy teams up with his goddaughter Helena Shaw (played by Phoebe Waller-Bridge) to hunt down a powerful artifact before the Nazi scientists can get to it.

In other words, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is a classic Indy adventure. But despite the fact that Dial of Destiny took home $378.9 million at the worldwide box office, which did earn back its production budget, the film was considered a box office disappointment.

Perhaps Disney can earn a little more money now that the film will be available to buy on digital. Here’s how you can watch Indiana Jones 5 online, and when to expect Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny streaming on Disney+.

Where to watch Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny on streaming:

Beginning on Tuesday, August 29 Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny will be available to buy digitally on Amazon PrimeGoogle PlayApple TVVudu, and more. The price may vary depending on which platform you use to purchase the film, but on Amazon Prime and Vudu the movie costs $19.99 to buy.

The digital release of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny will also include bonus content, including a five-part “making of” sequence that walks viewers through five different chapters of making the film, showcasing new characters, stunts, music, locations, production design, and visual effects. Indiana Jones 5 is not yet available to rent online.

When will  Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny be streaming on Disney Plus?

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny will likely be on Disney+ before the end of the year, because it is a Disney movie. All of the new Disney theatrical movies end up streaming on Disney+, often about three months in theaters, and about a month on digital. The Little Mermaid opened in theaters on May 26, was released digitally on July 25, and will be streaming on Disney+ on September 6. (The movie will release on DVD on September 19.)

If Indiana Jones follows a similar release strategy, we can expect to see Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny on Disney+ in very late September or early October 2023.

That said, the Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny Disney+ release date has not yet officially been announced. This is all guesswork, so take it with a grain of salt. For now, if you’re jonesing to watch Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny at home, you can buy a digital copy of the movie.
