11 Best New Shows on Netflix: September 2023’s Top Upcoming Series to Watch

This September, Netflix is starting the Fall season off strong with tons of terrific titles on their list of new content streaming all month long. While it’s always hard to say goodbye to the titles leaving Netflix, you won’t be feeling down for long once you get a good look at the impressive array of Netflix Original series coming to the platform to take their place. With everything from brand new titles to long-awaited continuations of fan favorites, Netflix’s diverse and delightful September 2023 premieres are sure to have something for everyone.

The streamer is set to help you celebrate the new month with premieres from highly-anticipated continuations of established hit series across several different genres (so there’s truly something for everyone), like Sex Education: Season 4, Top Boy: Season 3, and Love Is Blind: Season 5, which are all already looking to be some of the most promising releases out of September’s entire streaming lineup.

1. Sex Education: Season 4

This final chapter from the Netflix Original teen sex comedy-drama follows Otis Milburn (Butterfield) as he’s challenged to make a place for himself at the free-spirited Cavendish College where he’s shocked to find he’s not the only sex therapist at school. He and his friends will face plenty of new challenges at Cavendish as they’re forced to leave Moordale behind.

   At the same time, Maeve Wiley (Mackey) is getting a fresh start in America at Wallace University, putting an end to the ongoing “will they, won’t they” romance between herself and Otis before they ever really got a chance to try. 2. Castlevania: Nocturne

In a remote part of France, the counter-revolutionary aristocracy strikes up an alliance with a vicious Vampire Messiah, whose personal mission is to let loose an army of bloodthirsty vampires and nightcreatures that will end the revolution and enslave all of humanity. With the future of mankind looking grim, it’s up to Richter Belmont (Bluemel), the last descendant of an illustrious family of vampire hunters, to lead the resistance against the undead.

3. Top Boy: Season 3

   DESCRIPTION: This month, the story of award-winning British crime-drama Top Boy comes to an end with the premiere of its third and final Netflix-produced season. The show revolves around drug dealers, Dushane (Walters) and Sully (Robinson) and those who are involved in drug dealing and gang violence around them, all with the backdrop of the fictional Summerhouse estate in Hackney, London.

   This final season begins with the consequences of Sully’s actions at the end of the previous season now coming to light and rewriting his business rules with Dushane. With Sully taking charge, Dushane has to cash out, creating a new order that presents fresh challenges as outside forces threaten to destroy their empire once and for all.

4. Love Is Blind: Season 5

   DESCRIPTION: The Netflix Original hit reality series Love Is Blind returns for another season of everyone’s favorite romantic social experiment. Season 5 looks to be more titillating and juicy than ever as a brand new group of men and women talk through walls to find their future fiancés, braving fresh twists, turns, and even love triangles along the way in search of lasting love. Love Is Blind: Season 5 was filmed in Houston, Texas, making it the second season that the series has shot in the Lone Star State.

The Netflix Original romantic-drama series continues to follow midwife and nurse practitioner Melinda “Mel” Monroe (Breckenridge) as issues with her own pregnancy force her to make major decisions about her future at the clinic as well as in her romantic life.

   Meanwhile, Jack Sheridan (Henderson) works to grow his business and overcome his personal demons, and new threats emerge as long-held secrets come to light in Virgin River.

With the help of her eclectic new friend group, Mbali faces off against brand new challenges as she progresses both in young adulthood and her journey of self-discovery and perception.

7. Disenchantment: Part 5

The Netflix Original animated fantasy sitcom returns to give a rousing send-off to the gutsy and hard-drinking Queen Bean (Jacobson), as well as her optimistic half-elf pal Elfo (Faxon) and personal demon Luci (André) as they fight in an epic battle for Dreamland.

   In order to prevent the future of Dreamland from being ruined by her mother, the evil Queen Dagmar (Horgan), Bean must defeat her own mom as she also tries to outrun a prophecy that predicts she’ll kill a loved one.
