For Full House megafans looking to step back in time to 1991, today is your lucky day.
Do you remember where you were when smoking hot Uncle Jesse (played by heartthrob John Stamos) performed that sweet Beach Boys cover to Aunt Becky (Lori Loughlin), his newlywed bride, on the wedding episode of Full House? He serenaded her on the piano, while a choir of singers clad in purple robes provided angelic backup vocals?
Of course you do.
That song, “Forever,” originally released by The Beach Boys on their 1970 album Sunflower, has been made famous in part by Stamos’ multiple covers of the hit song on the family sitcom Full House, and later, Fuller House. For Season 5 of the original series, Stamos even filmed an “official music video” of the cover with his fictional band in the show, Jesse & The Rippers, that features a pensive yet sexy ‘Jesse’ draped in white bedsheets and surrounded by candles and beaded curtains.
Now, you can hear the latest version that just dropped. Reimagined as a lullaby with American Idol alum Jax, the new cover is a softer, somehow sweeter take on the hit song.
Longtime fan and collaborator of The Beach Boys, Stamos has been performing with the band since the 1980s. He appeared in the music video for “Kokomo” and even contributed lead vocals to the version of “Forever” that appears on the band’s 1992 album Summer in Paradise. Stamos most recently performed with the band on their “America’s Band” tour at their stop at the Hollywood Bowl in July.

Stamos’ memoir “If You Would Have Told Me: A Memoir” — in which he in part examines his time as an “honorary Beach Boy,” along with the rest of his iconic career — will hit bookshelves Oct. 24.
Full House is available to stream on Max.
